A World Champion. A New Bike. A New Challenge.
At the GUMANDE G-PROJECT Cup round in Zhuzhou, Spain's professional racer Marc Garcia added another victory to his racing career, taking the top step of the podium in the MiniGP Open A Class.
But this race was about more than another trophy.
The event also marked Marc's first experience racing an electric motorcycle, giving the World Supersport 300 champion a completely new challenge on the circuit.
Despite cold conditions and a race interruption, Marc delivered a strong performance and finished the weekend with a win.
We sat down with Marc to talk about the race, his first experience with electric racing, GUMANDE tires, and what's next in his career.
Meet Marc Garcia
Nationality: Spain
Profession: Professional Motorcycle Racer
Championship: World Supersport 300 (WorldSSP300) Champion
Race Number: 41
Q1. How do you feel about your performance and the result?
Marc Garcia:
I'm very happy with the result, but also with the whole experience.
There was a red-flag situation during the race, and at that moment my first concern was the safety of the other riders. I really hope everyone was okay.
The weather was extremely cold, which made the conditions challenging. But even with the cold temperatures, we were able to achieve a great result.
And there was something else that made this race special for me — it was my first time riding an electric motorcycle.
It was a completely new experience, and I really enjoyed it.
Q2. What was the first thing you thought about when you crossed the finish line and realized you had won?
Marc Garcia:
The first thing I thought about was my team.
They gave me the opportunity to come here, compete against so many talented riders, and experience this event.
I'm very grateful to them and to everyone who supported me throughout the weekend.
I also hope I can come back and race here again in the future.
Q3. You won both the race and a prize. How do you plan to use it?
Marc Garcia:
I would like to invest it back into racing.
Part of it could go toward new racing equipment or upgrades for my bike. Training is also very important, so some of it may go toward future preparation.
I'd also like to purchase some motorcycles here and eventually use them to help train younger riders.
Sharing what I've learned through racing is something I'd really like to do.
Q4. You raced on GUMANDE tires during the event. How did they perform?
Marc Garcia:
Overall, I was very happy with the performance of the GUMANDE tires.
Of course, there are always areas where a tire can continue to improve. I've already been communicating with the GUMANDE team about the experience, and we can continue discussing how to make the product better.
The progress of the tire has been clear, and I believe it will continue to improve.
Q5. What are your plans for next season? Will we see you back in MiniGP?
Marc Garcia:
Next year, I plan to challenge myself in higher-level competition.
At the same time, I continue to follow the MiniGP racing scene closely. If the right opportunity comes up, I would definitely be happy to return to the grid.
Racing Is About More Than Winning
Marc Garcia's victory at the G-PROJECT Cup was another reminder of what makes motorsport so demanding — and so rewarding.
Cold temperatures.
Changing conditions.
A red flag.
A completely new motorcycle.
None of these challenges changed the focus.
Ride. Adapt. Compete.
For GUMANDE, having an experienced world-class rider like Marc Garcia compete on GUMANDE tires provides more than visibility. It creates an opportunity to collect feedback from a rider who understands what performance means at the highest levels of motorcycle racing.
That feedback matters.
Because GUMANDE believes performance tires should evolve through real-world competition.
From Champions to the Next Generation
Perhaps the most important part of Marc's interview wasn't the trophy.
It was his desire to use his experience to help younger riders.
Motorsport grows when knowledge is passed from one generation to the next.
A young rider learning how to brake later.
A first experience with competitive racing.
A better understanding of corner entry.
A faster lap.
Every step matters.
Through G-PROJECT, GUMANDE aims to support that ecosystem — from emerging riders to experienced racers — while continuing to learn from the people who push performance to its limits.
Marc's win in Zhuzhou was another chapter in that journey.
And the next chapter is already waiting.
